If you sit very still in these times, you can feel the mechanisms of a trap closing. The crises that we face today are all interconnected and closing in to ensnare us all in a cascade of disasters near and far. The trap has been laid out by the greed of the powerful and the cowardice of others who are also powerful but have decided to play powerless. The trap plays on our ignorance of it, but may still snatch us up if we do notice it. Environmental disaster, political strife, terrorism, control, domination, these are all different teeth in the trap, all coming together in unison. Similar and overlapping with the realization that one will one day die, the recognition of the trap is unnerving, and if you see the trap you will never unsee it. It’s getting late.
